Frequently Asked Questions
"Can my existing fixtures be cleaned or polished to
restore the shine they've lost?"
If your fixture is made of fiberglass,
acrylic, or cultured marble, it can - in some cases - be polished.
(Consult your local franchisee). If normal household cleaners fail
to bring back the shine on your other fixtures, your finish has
most likely been damaged or worn and has probably become pitted
and porous. The more you scrub, the worse it will be.
"Why should I use
Perma-Glaze instead of replacing my existing
bathtub?"
Put yourself in the position of someone
deciding whether to replace or refinish an existing bathroom.
Replacement fixtures are almost invariably of lesser quality than
the original. (They don't make them like they use to!)
Perma-Glaze's refinishing/restoration process takes hours verses
weeks of expensive removal and replacement of bathtubs, tiles and
other fixtures. Additionally, tub removal and replacement costs
average between $1,500 to $3,000. The cost of a Perma-Glaze® refinishing is a
fraction of this average: about 15%. Customers realize a savings
close to 85%!
"Can Perma-Glaze
repair chips and cracks?"
Yes! Perma-Glaze® can easily restore worn, chipped or
broken tile without the hassle or expense of replacement. Existing
fixtures such as bathtubs, sinks, floor, kitchen and wall tiles,
countertops and more can be repaired and resurfaced for a fraction
of replacement costs.
Damaged porcelain, fiberglass, vitreous china,
cast iron, stainless steel, Formica and cultured marble can also
be restored with a matching finish, avoiding the cost along with
the inconvenience of replacement.
Perma-Glaze® chip repairs result in a like-new
finish, durable enough that the same guarantee of a new fixture is
offered by Perma-Glaze®. The resurfacing process includes
original, matte, satin, speckle and glossy. Perma-Glaze® can be used to
completely refinish a fixture or surface, or to repair isolated
chips to their original finish. Customers are extremely gratified
with Perma-Glaze and the price.
"When I have a
fixture Perma-Glazed, does it require special care or cleaning
materials?"
No! The new Perma-Glaze® finish should be
cleaned with a non-abrasive cleaner just as you would with a new
fixture or tile. Abrasives are capable of damaging even the most
durable surfaces.
"Can a single
chip in my fixture be repaired?"
Yes! It can be completely blended into the
surface.
"Is Perma-Glaze®
real porcelain?"
No, it is a state-of-the-art synthetic glaze
which has the luster and texture of porcelain with unbelievable
durability and toughness.
"How long does
it take to Perma-Glaze® a fixture, tile or
appliance?"
Usually a few hours and always less than one
day. Most of the time is spent in preparing the original surface
for reglazing. When the Perma-Glaze® has been applied, there is
only a 48 hour "curing" time required before the fixture can be
used. (Accelerated curing time is, in some cases, available).
"What should I
do to prepare the fixture for the Perma-Glaze®
process?"
Repair or replace any plumbing problems
(leaking faucets, broken handles, pipes) and remove any hardware
such as shower doors and tracks which are directly connected to
the tub or sink.
"Will
Perma-Glaze® refinishing cause any damage or harm to my home or
pets?"
Definitely not! Any odors from chemicals we
use are exhausted by window or fan and gone within a few
hours.
"Why should I
choose Perma-Glaze® for my refinishing needs?"
There are many reasons! Perma-Glaze® is one of
the most established and respected names in the multi-surface
restoration industry. Perma-Glaze® is safer because our products
do not contain harmful polyicocyanate resins. Perma-Glaze® is also
incredibly beautiful, with exceptional shine and depth of gloss.
"Is there a
charge for an estimate or inspection?"
No! We realize there is always a question or
two not covered in a brochure. Please call and let us answer it
for you, personally. 443-739-7320
